Music notes/score/sheet [pdf; 111kB; pages: 04]
This is a parody of the popular CanCcan cabaret music, composed by Jaques Offenbach for the operetta 'Orpheus in the underworld'. it's quite strange that a 'burlesque' performance is attributed to a cantor who has a religious association (cantor- Jewish religious official who leads the musical part of a service).
Here, the lyrics & the music score is combined by writing the lyrics over the score itself.
Those who want to have the lyrics separately can choose it from art song/lyrics or music lyrics. The lyrics is quite a hilarious account of how it is staged at Moulin Rouge in Paris. it is very light-hearted and quite fitting to the dance performance!
CanCan parody (score)
Titled 'can- can' reflecting its rhythm.
operetta is of a less classical form of an opera. it's made up of spoken dialog, songs, and dances more like the Broadway musicals.
